Crista LeGrand, CAE, CMP
President & CEO
Crista LeGrand currently is the principal owner and Chief Executive Officer of Clemons & Associates, Inc. Founded in 1977, C&A is a Baltimore-based Association Management Company that has demonstrated success in customer satisfaction year after year. LeGrand has been in the association management industry for over 18 years. She has served on many Boards of Directors. She has also served as the executive vice president and executive director of three associations. LeGrand is a Certified Association Executive (CAE) and a Certified Meeting Professional (CMP). She has personally managed hundreds of events throughout her career including site selection, meeting management, registration/housing, sponsorship, education strategy and planning, new product/program development, content management and delivery, and program evaluation.
LeGrand leads a team of association management professionals who handle all aspects of non-profit management including event services and meeting management, financial management, board leadership, strategic planning, membership development, and communications/marketing. LeGrand also provides business consulting and has served on several boards for business and volunteer organizations. LeGrand is a member of ASAE & The Center, Professional Convention Management Association (PCMA), and the University of Maryland Terrapin Club. She is also an active sports car enthusiast! Crista LeGrand resides in Perry Hall, Maryland, where she enjoys spending time with her family.
Kalu’s heavy math background, coupled with marketing and administrative experience, provide great assistance to C&A. He’s inquisitive and proactive, and on the ball when it comes to assessing and troubleshooting problems. He has experience dealing with numbers and financial resolution. Kalu has been a part of political campaigns and tutors students in math. His work with Clemons and Associates, Inc. has aided in the founding of his own non-profit organization.
When he has free time, Kalu spends it exploring his creative avenues, as he’s been in media and entertainment his whole life. As a former dancer of 8 years, he enjoys watching contemporary, hip-hop, krump, and broadway choreography. Kalu also spends his time making music and editing videos. He hopes to finish writing and filming his first movie soon. If he’s not entertaining, you can catch him at the local gym.
Marketing & Communications Coordinator
Natalie attended the University of Arizona where she received an academic excellence scholarship and graduated Magna Cum Laude at the age of 20 years old. She holds a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Communication and a minor in Public Relations. She also had the incredible opportunity to study International Communication in Barcelona, Spain for six months. As the Clemons & Associates, Inc. content creator, Natalie has experience in business writing, digital marketing, email blasts, press releases, and building websites. She is extremely skillful on all social media network platforms.
In her free time, she enjoys being a social media influencer, as she has grown her Instagram account to over 14,000 followers. She has a passion for artwork and loves wondering different art museums. Natalie aspires to travel the world and live abroad in many different countries during her life. She is currently living in Annapolis, Maryland.
Executive Vice President
As the Executive Vice President of Clemons and Associates, Inc., Amanda is responsible for business operations, staff development, and executing the company’s strategic plan. She has served as the Executive Director of three professional societies and one trade association, bestowing her with a strong background in meeting and event planning, program development, financial budgeting, succession planning, and leadership development. She is well-versed in developing committee charters, executing board orientations, and revamping association governing documents. She has demonstrated a very strong track record, increasing membership numbers by 10-28% and assets by up to 25% for the organizations she has worked with.
Amanda has achieved a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Loyola University. She also had the opportunity to study abroad in Australia and Chile. Being an avid traveler, she has had the luxury of traveling to some of the most exotic destinations, including the Galapagos Islands, Machu Picchu, New Zealand, Iceland, Alaska, Ecuador, Guatemala, and Costa Rica to name a few. On her days off, you can find her spending time with the little boy who stole her heart and calls her Momma. She also enjoys practicing yoga and a nice spa day.
Angie Gonzalez graduated from Towson University with a major in Communication Studies and served as President and PR Chair of her sorority. She has administrative experience along with a background in marketing and project coordinating. Angie also does freelance photography and loves cuddling with her dog, Versace!
Paula has worked in association management for over 20 years and brings expertise in strategic planning; board and committee leadership development; and budget planning and growth. Paula's our resident food aficionado and can tell you where all the best restaurants are in Maryland.
Bob brings over 25 years of experience in providing financial services for tax-exempt organizations and fully understands the financial standards and processes in association management. As an independent contractor for C&A, he has worked with C&A since 2001 and has experience managing all aspects of operating a business.
Bob holds his Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of Baltimore in Baltimore, Maryland. In his free time, you can catch him at a Baltimore Ravens Football Game.
Kim has meticulous attention to the details and brings years of event planning experience to C&A. Kim is constantly looking for ways to improve and streamline processes for better efficiency. Kim works to develop, manage and assess marketing campaigns to help boost membership recruitment and global awareness of an association. She has Increased membership by 27% within the last two years. She is responsible for writing, editing and proofing all materials, including designing new web interfaces writing site content and heading website SEO and SEM initiatives for client’s websites. She also aids in the creative development of new logos, mission statements and website redesigns.
Kim was born and raised here in Baltimore, Maryland. She spends her free time with her family, raising her two sons. She is an avid Maryland sports fan. You can find her cheering on the Ravens, Orioles, or Terps.
Alice is the Operations Manager at Clemons & Associates, Inc. Alice joined C&A back in 2014 and is celebrating her fifth year with the company. Her strong planning, organizational skills and a capability to execute, has resulted in growth for the associations she serves. Alice is a very skillful writer, as she has received many awards in writing contests. Known for her energy, enthusiasm and contagious laugh, Alice has helped expand the services provided to all C&A clients.
Alice holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in English from Guilford College in Greensboro, North Carolina and she’s a Baltimore native. She coordinates all our team-outings and volunteer services. Alice has always had a passion for teaching and helping others.
Becca is an experienced Executive Director at Clemons & Associates, Inc. She has the innovative spirit, drive, and enthusiasm to continue the success of your organization. Her experience includes working with national, regional, and state associations for over five years. Becca’s experience includes strategic planning; managing communication strategies via social media, website, and e-blasts; serving as liaison between board, committee, and member, as well as state and national associations. She is also experienced in planning, organizing and executing board meetings, fundraising events, and national conferences; providing a strong and credible voice for the association and industry with key stakeholders; association brand management.
Becca holds a certificate in association management, she also has her Master’s Degree in Business Administration (MBA), Bachelor of Science in Marketing; minor in psychology from Salisbury University. She is currently on the path to obtain her CAE designation through ASAE & The Center. She is an avid long distance runner of over 15 years, who completed her first marathon in November 2018, along with many half marathons along the way. When she’s not running, you can find her snuggling with her adorable cat, Hermes.
Senior Account Executive
Mike brings over 40 years of industry experience and organizational leadership to C&A. Mike serves as the President & CEO of NOPA. Prior to this role in NOPA, he served on IOPFDA's Board of Directors while working as president/owner of George W. Allen and EZ Print Supplies. During that time, Mike was also actively involved on the NOPA Government Advocacy Committee and has testified before Congress on several occasions.
Early in Mike’s career he began focusing his efforts on sales and marketing to the federal government. He's an expert in educating members on how to navigate and obtain success through business downturns, technology and industry challenges, new market demands, and more. However, Mike’s most proud accomplishment is his family.
Andrea is our newest Association Coordinator here at Clemons & Associates, Inc. she comes with a corporate background in data analysis and market research. She prides herself on her research, time management and organizational skills. She holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration from Frostburg State University where she graduated magna cum laude. While attending FSU she held positions in the Marketing and Amnesty International clubs, and was a marketing intern for a luxury apartment complex.
In her free time, she enjoys baking, sewing and hiking. She is an avid traveler and recently came back from a trip to Japan and Korea. If she’s speaking, it is probably about her English Bulldog, Fuson.
Layla serves as the mascot, morale booster and security guard. She's a rescue dog from South Korea and is part Jindo, Shiba Inu, Chow Chow, and Spitz. When she's not sleeping, you can find her entertaining for treats. #cutenessoverload
